History
- Dream Cakes and Biscuits was founded in July of 2003 as a Manufacturer and Wholesaler of Gourmet Handmade Greek Style Cakes, Biscuits and Savoury Pastries by the Katsaras Family.
- With almost 50 years of experience in baking cakes and biscuits and owning cake shops, Danny Katsaras found a huge gap in the market for Gourmet Handmade Quality products.
- As Melbournians evolved into foodies, cafes were always looking for something better to satisfy their clients and Dream Cakes found their niche market selling their handmade products to gourmet cafes and cake shops.
- In October of 2005 Dream Cakes opened their first retail store and show room at 33 Chester Street in Oakleigh. With a huge multicultural population in the Oakleigh Area, Dream Cakes European and Greek style products quickly took off as another Oakleigh Icon within a short time of opening.
- In April of 2009 Dream Cakes expanded into a stall at Caribbean Market. Caribbean Market is an extremely popular and well known tourist destination as well as a popular local market. Dream Cakes started selling packaged European Style biscuits and a range of traditional Greek Fillo Pastries including Baklava and Kataifi.
- By August of 2009, Dream Cakes were invited to join Craft Markets Australia which host various quality Craft and Handmade products. Craft Markets stall holders must manufacture their own products and Dream Cakes quickly became a popular stall for sweet lovers. Dream Cakes attend various racecourse markets including – Healesville, Mornington, Flemington, and Lardner Park.
- In April of 2011 Dream Cakes opened their second retail store at Dandenong Market. Dandenong Market is an extremely diverse market with the largest range of multicultural food products in all of Melbourne. Dream Cakes new store has been extremely successful and also got a mention in the Age Good Food Shopping Guide under Dandenong Market. The popular Greek and European Handmade Gourmet Products have become ever so popular with visitors to the Dandenong Market and Dream Cakes were also listed as Must Visit Location in the Age Good Food Shopping Guide 2011.

Dream Cakes Café, where our signature coffee is our obsession and gourmet cakes are our profession. At Dream Cakes Cafe you can enjoy our Vittoria coffee with a large variety of gourmet European delights in a relaxed modern environment.

- An array of European style cakes including Millefeuille, Eclairs, Cream Horns, Strawberry Tarts, Custard Tortes and Yo Yo's, Galaktoboureko, Baklava, Kataifi and Bougatsa.
- An extensive range of hand made biscuits include European delicacies such as Almond Crescents, Chocolate Nut Truffles, Coconut Macaroons, Honey Macaroons and the Greek Koulouri.
- Gluten Free Items include ‘the Greek Almond Macaroon – Amigthaloto, Coconut Macaroons, Almond Chocolate Cake and Orange and Almond Cake
- Servings of Traditional Greek Savoury Pastries including Spanakopita and Tiropita, Gourmet Focaccia's, Homemade Lasagna and Moussaka and Salads for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- A variety of Cold beverages including Soft Drinks, Iced Tea, Imported Mineral Water from Greece and Italy, Milk Shakes, Iced Coffee and Iced Chocolate, and the Greek Frappe and Freddo Cappuccino and Frappacino’s
- A variety of Hot beverages including Latte, Ristretto, Cappuccino, Short black, Affogato, various Teas, Chai Latte and Hot Chocolate
- Licensed bar includes Liquor Coffee, Beer, Wine and Spirits imported from all over the world Dream Cakes also specialise in Corporate hampers for Easter, Christmas and Other Special occasions including wine and spirits, assorted jams and chocolates and of course a selection of Dreams gourmet products.

Dream Cakes Wholesale
- Dream Cakes have been manufacturing and wholesaling their gourmet handmade products for over 8 years.
- Every effort is made to ensure that the weight and appearance of products are consistent.
- As all our products are handmade from scratch the appearance of items will sometimes vary slightly.
- All items are ex GST. So please add GST to all prices appropriately.
- Dream delivery days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. All orders must be placed 48 hours prior to delivery.
- Orders must be placed by 5pm Friday for Tuesday Delivery (factory is closed on Monday).
- Wholesale and Catering Pick ups are also available from all three Dream Outlets from Tuesday through to Saturday 9am to 6pm. All orders must be placed with adequate notice for pick up.
- Please note that our trading terms are Strictly COD. Orders require Cash on delivery for first three deliveries. Once a history has been built we will accept cheques.

DREAM CAKES LAUNCH STRAWBERRY AND MOCHA GREEK YO YO'S AT THE MELBOURNE GOOD FOOD AND WINE SHOW JUNE 2011
Dream Cakes Launched their Strawberry and Mocha Yo Yo's on the 3rd of June at the Good Food and Wine Show in Melbourne.
By taking an old traditional Greek cake - the Chocolate Yo Yo and putting a modern twist on it, Dream Cakes sold thousands of Yo Yo's (Greek Name KOK) to the very excited foodies at the Show.
Patrons of the show swarmed the Dream Cakes stand to sample and enjoy these amazing new cakes. Visit us again for photos and information on these new Greek delicacies.
